Okay. My wife is out of town with my 7 year old in Fort Worth, so I woke up this morning to my 3 year old (3yo) and 9 year old (9yo) demanding to watch a Disney cartoon called Gravity Falls on the DVR. It went down hill from there.
I have all daughters (pray for me). I took the two under my care to Cracker Barrel for "brunch". I don't like the place, but 9yo does, so screw it. Had a meal with more calories than I'd like to admit. When we got back home, I let them watch a few more Disney movies and cleaned up around the house. Woohoo.
I then took them to Chic-Fil-A drive through to load up on chicken nuggets. Back to the house. They ate, had baths, then I blew their minds by letting them watch Fantasia. They then went to bed.
Food, Disney movies, and cleaning up the house. Welcome to my exciting as hell day.
No Houston Auto Show for me.

eventually you'll have one old enough to babysit the others so you can leave the house with your wife and feel like an actual adult.

Times like this pale in comparison to the teenage years.

Until that happens, leaving the house with my wife alone costs us $10/hr for the sitter. :(

I don't want to think about that right now. Every time I do, I keep thinking about hidden GPS chips in their jewelry and how complicated I could get my security system when it comes to them sneaking out.

I have a three year old, so I'm still in the Dada Lyfe stage as well.

Wonderful movie. I too am angered by superior business cards.

Technology is a blessing. Back in the 70s, we had to rely on neighbors, friends, and the man above.

I have enough friends in town to keep a pretty good eye on them. If push came to shove, I could have the local police/SO/Constables keep a look out as well. But I'm a few short years away from that. God help me when they start dating.

Well, that's good.
Oh the dating years will be entertaining, especially with 3 girls.

This is pretty much exactly what happens when my wife goes somewhere for the day.

Cub Scout Pinewood Derby for me. Had to help setup Friday as I am one of the few dad's who owns a real truck and then our den had food duty, so I shilled out 90 800 calorie Costco muffins. The boy came in third and we get/have to go race in the district event in a couple of months. First place car looked suspiciously like a dad special, but who cares. Hit up Outback to use some gift cards for a free meal. Some Rolex tossed in as well.

Congrats on a solid third place! At least one of the others is a dad-designed vehicle. I hated that when I was in Scouts.

Pinewood Derby and Raingutter Regatta are great times. Hopefully he thanks you in the future. I thanked mine.
